Mage's Robe.

This is made from a lovely, lovely fabric.  It looks like crushed velvet without the shiny tacky appearance, it handles like a light velvet.  It's crease resistant and pretreated with Scotchguard to minimise staining.  It's warm - perhaps a little too heavy for all-concealing kit in the hot summer days, but trust me, at night, dusk, in the winter and the rain, this stuff has the warmth and rain-hampering power of faux suede.

This is a plain black robe.  It is completely unlined and unhemmed, as, despite the fact I've named it a mage's robe here, it was made as the bottom layer of the wraith's robe ensemble.  The body was made to the Simplicity pattern 9887 (yoke front cloak).  As I wanted a much bigger and more dramatic hood, I shunned the hoods that came with the pattern and instead cut out to the size and shape of a Kinsale cloak hood.

Availability:

  • This garment is not available for purchase.
  • Garments cut to the same pattern are available for custom order with the option of a full hood as illustrated, a liripipe (a very long thin trailing hood point at the back) or with a closer fitting rounded hood.  Garment costs are in the region of £60 (not including postage) depending on the fabric required and any other special requirements.   Please email me for details.
