A plain set of bracers - essentially leather cut to a pattern template - were supplied by Alex. Initially I had intended for these to be patterned using just pyrography. However, during the learning process, I realised that regular pencil marks don't rub off this kind of leather very easily.
I abandoned the initial, more structured pattern and instead used the pyrograph to produce these freehand swirling patterns.

The time had come to do something about those pencil marks. Therefore, the colouring process began. This involved 2 tins of leather polish - tan and oxblood. The tan was necessary as the oxblood was a lighter colour than I had anticipated on this leather.
The polish was applied in layers, at first with a cloth as the tin recommended; and then with a soft polish brush as I realised it was more effective.

The bracers will now go back to Alex to be backed properly and either given buckles or eyelets for lacing. Updated photographs will follow when complete.
