Azrael

Forever writing in a large book and forever erasing what you have written, you are Azrael, and what you write is the birth of each soul and what you erase is the name of that soul at death.

You have many names, but you are not Satan, for you serve faithfully in your duties as one of the angels of death. You brought God a handful of earth from which to create Adam and earned that title then. One of your names is Izra'il, and you keep a roll of humanity on which the names of the damned are circled in black and the names of the blessed circled in light.

You will be the last angel to die, accompany souls to Heaven and have one foot in Seventh Heaven and the other on the bridge to Hell.

Rendered in Poser over a photographic background, the only touchups to this image were to add the lens flare in Photoshop and strip the colour to make it greyscale.
